Il World Tour chiude il suo lunghissimo giro attorno al mondo ciclistico in Cina. La gara conclusiva del calendario mondiale è infatti il Tour of Beijing, quest'anno proposto in cinque tappe e con un percorso molto rinnovato rispetto alle due prime edizioni.

Il percorso - Se nelle scorse edizioni era una corsa riservata esclusivamente a velocisti e cronomen, stavolta il Tour of Beijing 2013 ha inserito un arrivo in salita ed eliminato la prova contro il tempo. Per Tony Martin, vincitore di entrambe le edizioni fin qui disputate, sarà dunque molto difficile confermarsi il numero uno. La prima tappa è per velocisti, la seconda è un po' più mossa, ma con l'ultima salitella a 50 km dall'arrivo è comunque favorevole alle ruote veloci. Ancora più mossa la terza tappa, con ben 7 Gpm, l'ideale per una fuga da lontano o una volata ristretta. Il tappone è però alla quarta tappa con l'arrivo in salita di Mentougou di 12 km al 5.7% che deciderà la classifica finale. L'ultima tappa è a Pechino con il traguardo allo Stadio Olimpico destinato ai velocisti.

I favoriti - Per le volate Viviani, Bouhanni, Ferrari, Hushovd, Petacchi, Matthews e Markus sono i più accreditati. Le tappe intermedie, la terza soprattutto, potrebbe essere buona per corridori come Stybar, Ponzi o Visconti. Per la tappa di montagna e la generale indichiamo Betancur, Daniel Martin, Gesink, Basso come favoriti. Ci sarà anche l'iridato Rui Costa, ma al Lombardia è già sembrato in difficoltà dopo la sbornia mondiale.

Il Tour of Beijing 2013 in tv - La corsa cinese sarà trasmessa ogni mattina in diretta da Eurosport. L'appuntamento è per tutte e cinque le tappe alle 8.45.
